Wayne Bank is able to help qualified first-time homebuyers with down payment costs, closing costs, and counseling costs. Up to $20,000 per household may be requested. Funds, made possible by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (LAUNCH program), are available on a first-come, first served basis.
To qualify for a down payment assistance grant you must:
- be a first-time homebuyer (no ownership of a principal residence within past three years ending on the date of the purchase of the property);
- at or below 80% area median income (per HUD.gov);
- purchasing a single-family home, condominium, duplex, or modular unit;
- contribute a minimum of $500 towards the purchase of the home;
- complete a required home buyer counseling course;
- Funds may be used to cover the cost of counseling
